Neat find! Where did you get it?
    Who will steal it?

I hope you don't actually believe that.
I won't vote on this thread.

Anybody if I send it off could steal it. I'm afraid for it to leave my sight.

So then why even comment? Just keep it moving right along...hater

That's a really unnecessary comment. I've known the member you commented on and many others for over a decade. There are really no haters on this forum. You have the wrong attitude.

I say no to sending it. Nice coin but it's not worth it. Just my opinion.

It is the S VDB that is the pricey one.
Where did you find it/get it?

Nice coin but not nearly valuable enough to have slabbed.

So why would you make such a comment about the grading services over a coin that is only worth a few dollars? I have never known that to ever happen. I wish you had not called me a hater. That's far from the truth. Nice looking coin.

Your coin is a neat find. It’s a 1909 Lincoln Cent. This was the first year of issue. On the reverse at 6:00 are the letters V.D.B., Victor David Brenner, who designed this coin. The Lincoln Cent was issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth. The Lincoln Cent was also the first type of cent you have the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST”. The V.D.B. Is on a limited number of cents for 1909. It was removed but restored to the obverse on Lincoln’s shoulder, about 7:00 in 1918. Yours coin is worth about $6.00 with the reverse initials, less with no initials so it’s not worth grading. Sure neat to find so protect it as it’s over 100 years old and they don’t mint them any more. Now if you have the S mint mark under the date then it’s worth about $600.00.

Calm down, nobody's going to steal it, it's not the SVDB.

I'm not into slabbing, but they've slabbed million-dollar plus coins. Although the shipping company stealing something truly valuable would be a concern.

Although even the $600 scenario wouldn't be enough to get paranoid about.

Could it be what? In the future, tell us what you think it is. I hate these guessing games. Not everything needs to be phrased as clickbait.

    1909 VDB is like a $10 or $15 coin.
Grading, shipping and insurance costs more than that.
It's a nice coin.(Put it in a flip.) But there is no reason to send it anywhere.

Oops, I thought it was the s mint mark so I retract my yes vote to grade it.

I concur. Not worth the hassle and expense of certification. Nice coin to stick in an album, but not worth slabbing.

How can you tell if it's the proof coin or not?
