Picked up a neat Mexico 1 Peso today from 1873. It’s neat for a couple of reasons:
    1) the RPD is comically struck. Haven’t had time to get it under the scope but looks great in person and on the phone.
    2) the E in Peso is doubled. Other devices don’t look so bit again haven’t inspected too close yet.
    3) the mint mark is OA E versus Oa E listed in Numista. 1872 shows both a Oa E and an OA E variety. Anyone know if this is supposed to be the case for 1873?

Either way really happy for $35 even though the coin is in horrific condition - I still like it and the purchase.

Any additional information or opinions on this coin are appreciated.
    Thanks.

Cool coin! According to numista.com, you did fine on the price. ;)

Melt is like $25 and I’ll pay $10 for the 150 year old RPD all day.

For the Oaxacan mint, Krause lists only the Oa mint mark for 1873. For 1872 both the OA and Oa mint marks were used. The catalog number is KM 408.6.

    Nice purchase!
