I thought I had disassembled this folder years ago and put the dimes in flips or tubes, but I learned this week that's not the case. My wife was rearranging the bookshelf and she came across my old Mercury Dime folder from high school. It was with my old poker books - remember when everyone was playing Texas Hold 'Em and watching World Poker Tour? Anyway, nothing special, but thought I'd share a picture. Some have some fun album toning that can't really be seen in the photo.
Very cool. If I was to guess (and I am) I would say I started this Merc book around 1970-ish…. The last holes weren’t plugged until around 2000 and the pages are holding on with a prayer. But I keep it because it keeps me tied to the coin addicted kid in me.
All nice collections. I started in 1948 but moved them to a new album about 20 years ago. The 16 D is in a slab.
Nice! Since you’ve rediscovered this and that it’s more gill than empty you can now work at filling that folder.
So true Randy. I have threatened several times to upgrade my Indian Head Cent folder. Scotch Tape all over it. I started it in 1948/49 or thereabouts. My wife says it is me and represents my lifelong hobby and I should leave it alone.
