I recently took some updated pictures (just using my phone) when it was a sunny morning a little while back. I took the coins out of my albums and carried them to the front windows for a little "fun in the sun" and I'm glad I did! That sunlight really made for some better pictures than I was expecting! I might add in some other pictures of newer additions, but not in the sunlight as it's been raining here finally.
Here's some more I may not have shared here before. I suspect the 1826 half cent has been cleaned/altered in some way, but it looks fantastic in my type set!
I'm pretty confident the 1890-O would get a proof-like designation if it were to be graded, but I'm curious if it would be possible to get DMPL. The 1894-S is absolutely beautiful in hand but I can't seem to do it justice in pictures no matter what I do. At least the sunlight seems to have helped with showing what it actually looks like in person, but I'm still a good bit off from true views (not trying to rip off PCGS) of the coin itself. I bought the 1796 Liberty cap, and it was purchased on a whim only because I really wanted it. I could have gotten other stuff instead, but I have an affinity to old US coinage and that had presented itself when I had some spending cash... hence, I am the temporary keeper of that particular coin. I'd love to get my hands on a Fugio or chain cent, but I think my wife would not be very happy with me if I bought one, so I've left that as a bucket-list item for the time being. I'll probably have one more batch of pictures to upload before I'm spent on coins for the night, but I hope you all at least enjoy seeing them as much as I do. I've found that the 1826 half cent is a Cohen-1 variety with the doubling on "ER" on the reverse, so I'm happy to find that. Or at least that's what I'm assuming it is. That's just from some quick rudimentary comparisons, but it certainly stands out to me when looking at the different varieties. Anyways, have a nice Friday evening,
