    Who is that? Nadir Shah?

Last great Ottoman sultan was Sulieman I/ however Selim I/ Mehmet II/ Murad II were WAY better.

Very impressive for the early 18th century! I'm guessing the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II's aircraft were not too advanced?

    Actually middle 15th Century!:D
Jagd Gruppe 52's combat record/ aces will NEVER be equalled for all time. Like they shot down 12000+ Soviet aircraft/ also some USAAF Mustangs/ B-24s/ B-17s/ Thuderbolts. Erich Hartmann "Stalin called the "Black Devil of the Ukraine" was never shot down. His buddy Gerd Barkhorn also part of "300" club. The two luftwaffe aces scored 352+302= 654 aerial kills. Hartmann left of Barkhorn. Hartmann was awarded Knights Cross/ Oakleaves/ Diamonds/ sadly Barkhorn only received KC/ Oakleaves/ certainly deserved Diamonds. That was like getting 5 Victoria Crosses. f11365def50a09a1e7c341827d676f4d.jpg

Viceroy of Peru, Philip V, Lima, 8 escudos, 1715, Assayer M (Felix Cristobal Cano Melgarejo).
    KM 38.2
    26.8 grams

Note the Spanish style 5, very sickle-like and sometimes confused for a 9 by some collectors and dealers. Also, there's a second date, 715, on the obverse from about 10 to 12 o'clock following ANO. The bottoms of the 7 and 1 are clear, and just the very bottom tip of the 5 is present.

This is an interesting submission for 1714 - a Queen Anne farthing.
They were only produced in very small numbers as patterns in both 1713 and 1714, with a number of significantly different designs. Even then there were quite a few coin collectors around, so soon contemporary copies of the 1714 began to appear - this is one of those. The genuine patterns go for serious money and even these contemporary copies make hundreds as for most collectors they are the only option for Anne coppers.

I'll have to look more seriously at small denom British coinage of the 1600 - 1700's. After the copious amount of small denomination Eliz-I silver, and also small denominations of the early Stuart's, it seems that noone bothered with coinage for the general populace.

I know there are a lot of privately produced Cu "English" tokens at this time, but I wonder why the crown didn't issue more?
