In picture 3 there is an A on the left side of nose,im still not very good identifying double die, so I ask alto, and try to read into it more, cherrypickers guide has helped alot, thanks for looking and in put,and or advice...
Looks incused into the image.. anything incused is usually damage or intentional. It's too small to be a double of any other letters on the Obverse and there are no letter A's on the Obverse... think about it
This is one late die state and hard to tell from these images . So match some images to this DDO and make sure you take an image of the die gouge in the lower bust . http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1946&die_id=1946p1do003&die_state=lds
I see roller marks across the trust and in the date. Although the small die chip or doubling in the 4 caught my eye, which would be closer to DDO-008. the eye looks close also. The coin in question is pretty beat up. I would say that even if it was a DDO it is going to be hard to identify, and worth less than a buck.
You're trying too hard. If an "error" requires that much magnification to be seen, it's not worth finding.
.... in your opinion. Even if you don't see the point or purpose, some others do. Yes, he probably is trying too hard, but he also appears to be a bit down on his budding hobby, so perhaps we should be a little more supportive and/or respectful to his interests. There are enough people already doing whatever they can to push people away (think eBay), so let's not make it worse.
Thanks everyone, for the positivety,Have learned alot through these forums and site, its been wonderful and a great way to learn ,trying to show my son with a hobby, so at the end of the day, when we hit a rare one,I can see that excitement out of him.....
