Waiting is the hard part... Currently I've got no coin deals working all internet transactions have been completed. The membership requirement for entry into the 'Bust Half Nut Club' (BHNC) have been achieved and then some. Currently I'm just waiting for #1. gas prices to drop some, #2. get a little money in savings from two contracts which are overdue, payment wise, #3, getting our youngest enrolled (TAG) in a HighSchool which is out of our district.

The grass quit growing last month and weather forecasts show no substantial rain for the next month as well. I sure don't want to go into winter already feeding my little herd (15 bred Angus heifers) hay meant for late winter but it sure looks like I will. Early sales are expected as one cannot afford the feed.

Other than that there are no reasons why I couldn't throw my Bust Halves into the Jeep, grab my .45 and head down to Colorado to have them all certified by Steve Herrman of the BHNC. none at all except I just don't have the energy to do it. Summer boredom and doldrums have overtaken me... ALAS

    Ben:
I know exactly how you feel.
Last week all that we had was heat and more heat, and then the humidity kicked in.

Then three days this week of more rain that I care to remember (glad that I could send some your way).

Today it is back to the heat.

Hey, why don't you do do some more gem hunting? Find a couple of fossils for me while you are at it.
We don't have neat stuff like that her in NY (Long Island anyway, upstate has tons of fossils).

Congrats again on achieving the BHNC status, I hope that you get approved. Why not pick up a couple of extras, just in case.
Also, do you remember that (?) R-8 that we spoke about a bit back?
What do you think, can you show the pictures to Steve?
Anyway, have fun, and stay cool.

P.S.. Just to show my ignorance, who the heck is Ron Paul?

Never mind, I just googled him.....

Sure thing, If I get down there I'll save it to a disk and have him give it a look. You could e-mail the pic to him if you'd like. I'll PM his address to you.

Google Ron Paul. He's a canditate for President who doesn't have much publicity/backing but he's a smart man.

    Regards

Ben.....I feel your pain. All you need to do, is go outside, for about 15 minutes, with your .45, and shoot an entire box of shells as fast as you can. Just picture the people mentioned in the thread posted by Drusus, who ripped off all of those elderly people. Although, wasting the shells on those people, would be too good for them.

I know what you mean by doldrums, there is some money burning a hole in my pocket, and a few coins on my wish list that would fit nicely, but the closest dealer who has what I want in stock is a bit aways. I can't get there during the week, because I'm gearing up for another deployment here soon, and the weekends have been filled with family. So what to do?

    Ditto.
Summer though is my busy time for work and for coin deals. Most of the time I rarely buy any coins while its cold...or at least not many, but when it heats up that is when I find more time to hunt the deals.

Nice shootin' .243 ??? The last one looks like a .22 though.

22.! I'll have to try my .243. The last time I zeroed it in I was shooting at about 2-300YD's pretty good. If you someone wants to try to get my coins they are first going to have to get past me!

Good Lord Speedy a 2" group at 300yds is incredible, Good Shooting :D The 100 grain (or so) .243 round is the one to do it with. Currently my long range shooting iron is a 7mm Mag. I had a (Savage 99) .243 when I was in HS, but gave it and a 12 ga. (Remmington 1100) shotgun to my little brother when I joined the service. His son has them now so it's all good and still in the family. :)

Where did I say 2" group :D :D What I was saying there is that I was shooting at a target 200-300 YD's away. Sorry that it sounded that way. Anyway----my grouping is around 2 inches I would say even though its been awhile since I've checked it out last time.
The coins were shot at closer range...the Sac's were shot for a collector friend who wanted a pocket piece.

How cold does it get in Kentucky? At one point I was considering a job in Kentucky, but it was so far from anything remotely like a synagauge that I had to back out.

Nice shootin guys. I shoot my .22 in competitions (i can hit the "10" out of a Shoot-n-see target). I just bought myself a new 30-06, going to the range today to sight it in. Other than that i have a .223, and a .308 mag. Shotguns i have a 20 gauge, a 12 gauge slug gun, a 12 guage turkey gun, and a 12 gauge side by side. A 1300 FPS Pellet gun, and a .45 pistol.
