I friend of mine showed me this small bronze coin and wondered where and when it was minted? it's about 15 mm in diameter. Thanks
looks like Morocco. Falus ? cast bronze. if it is 1251 on the coin it might be Krause catalog number C#122a.1 but in my book it measures about 20mm ?
You guys are certainly quick. I don't have it here and guessed about the size so probably is 20 mm or so. Thanks, Mike.
hi Mike. well when 1 of your (mine) topical/themed coin collections is certain "coins with stars" you can identify them quickly. I also collect Morocco coins too.
It's a Fallen Horseman type, but the obverse is too worn for me to tell who it is. Some here can tell by style. Perhaps one of them will be able to help ID your coin. BTW, welcome @Ruben Vasuez
Thanks i found it in a roll of pennies a few years ago and am just now looking into whatbit might be.
Yes in a roll of American pennies there was this coin and i could tell it was a old coin but kinda crazy how it made its way into my hand inwas working at a gas station and broke open a roll of pennies.
That is amazing, you literally got a Roman coin in Circulation! Good for you! I have never heard of this happening before. An 8nteresting side note, I have read that a recently as the late 1700s late Roman bronze coins circulated as Farthings in Great Britain during a coinage shortage.
Yeah guess its pretty wild. It has almost been a good luck toke. Ive had since then and i gotta say it has brought lots of good things my way lol.
