    Yup, apparently I love buying these sweet Thessalian coins!!

    => here are two more ponies that I scored at yesterday's auction (both of 'em under their initial estimates!!) ... cha-fricken-ching!!!

    They are two different denominations ...

    THESSALY, Larissa. AR Obol => $50 Hammer!!
    Late 4th-early 3rd centuries BC
    Diameter: 10 mm
    Weight: 0.78 grams
    Obverse: Reduced standard. Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, with hair in ampyx
    Reverse: Horse grazing right
    Reference: BCD Thessaly II 342–3; HGC 4, 516
    Other: 6h … VF, toned, porous

    I have to go to work now, but after work I'm gonna load-up all of my other sweet examples (I hope to see a few of your cool examples as well)

    => I love seeing other people's coins!! (that's why we bought 'em, right?)

    I love Horses on coins, and have several from Carthage. But this is one of the first Silvers that Rome pounded out, and it had a purdy horse!

    My newest 'horse' purchase is a Punic silver issue but it's on layaway at FORVM....so I only have those I have posted numerous times before.

    nice horse and nymph combos stevex! here is my favorite nymph coin...all tangled up with a snake...kind of hot.
