    How about a definitive answer on the OP coin. It is from modern dies by Slavey. There are many many examples I could add here in various states of artificial wear and toning.

    Here is a crisp one:-

    Toned and worn

    The next one made into a well known auction before being withdrawn

    Also available from the same dies in gold.

    Cast, worn and toned.

    I could go on.

    For weight? (If it turns out that the coin predicate, of course)!. Do you consider it uncirculated coin?.

    It is fake. Unquestionably fake. See maridvnvm's post above:

    You don't need to post it repeatedly. We do not need more information. It doesn't matter if the patina looks "real". It is a fake from modern dies.

    Given that it has been established that this is absolutely a modern fake from modern dies, the logical conclusion is that this patina was formed artificially. To me it looks like it's probably shoe polish at least for the black layer, which is commonly used to create a fake patina on silver coins. It doesn't really matter though, the coin is not ancient so neither is the patina.

    Guys, this is a counterfeiter having you vet his work. His name is Jack Tomy and he's been booted off many other forums many times.

    If that is true, his :bucktooth: crude work should embarrass the guys making deceptive counterfeits. IMO, he should melt his junk and start sweeping floors at a real counterfeit shop. :jawdrop: Perhaps in a few years as a gofer, his product will improve.

    For now, let's just call him a financially-challenged, wanna-be, hobbyist. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
