Just received from Josh at Civitas- interested in how you would grade these.

I'd put both of those in the upper VF range; perhaps borderline XF. Handsome pieces. The 50-centime was likely cleaned at one point, but is still quite nice.

    1st coin France 1895-A, 2004 Krause catalog KM#834.1, .835 silver, mintage-7,200,000
    grade/value
VF-$3.00 XF-$15.00 looks cleaned so I am not sure how much money would be deducated ?

    2nd coin France 1860-A, 2004 Krause catalog KM#778.1, .900 silver, mintage-6,536,00 ,
    grade/value
    VF-$6.00 XF-$15.00

these are based on a 2004 Krause world coin catalog. prices could be higher now. hopefully some with a more current catalog grades/values will sound off.

Thanks for the KM numbers, spirityoda. Made 'em easier to look up online. (NGC maintains a Krause database, but it's not the most user-friendly interface in the world.)

Here are the (presumably-current) Krause/NGC priceguide links:

    1895-A 50-centimes

    1860-A 20-centimes

(@laurentyvan - look for traces of an 1860/50 overdate on your coin, though I don't see any obvious signs in the photos).
