I'm spending the prez dollar rolls I got from the bank. I bought an item at a boat marine store and when I paid in GW's the woman at the counter gave me a strange look, looked over the funny money ad said, " Oh! It's fairy money" I told her they were the newest $1 coins and she said, "Tooth Fairy money". I'm glad she wasn't trying to get personal with me. She kept all 14 coins for herself (and I'm her kids).
You can still get the 2006 Sac's from the mint in the 20 coin mint set. Probably right up until the 2007 set goes on sale.
300,000,000 Washington dollars, 150,000,000 collectors, I personally am buying 80 coins, 40 of each for each president. I see people buying $1,000.00 bags, if this catches on like the state quarters, then 300 million is not enough to satisfy all the people whow would want some 1d and 1p for each and they are all accounted for.
Supply and Demand Mintages are the one side - supply. Demand is the other. Who wants them - that's demand. And that's what determines market value. If, at midnight, the US Gov't revealed that every fifth Lincoln Cent that had ever been minted actually contained 5 grams of pure gold, by 7 a.m. you wouldn't be able to find a lincoln in circulation anywhere and I don't care how many hundreds of billions they've made. That's demand.
sac vs: prez $ it seems that the sac dollars will be performing better than the prez dollars in term of future good price. because it look like the sac dollars mintage will be much smaller.
QUOTE=elaine 1970] it look like the sac dollars mintage will be much smaller.
I don't understand your arithmetic. One sac for each two prez coins, and four prez coins per year means sac mintage will on average be double the mintage of any one pres coin.
sac vs: prez $ right now prez $ production is over 600 mil while sac is only around 7.5 mil. and year 2002 to 2006 were more or less around 4.0 mil each year. no wonder rolls for those years jumped more than double. and i see prez dollar rolls will stay little more than face value.
The 2002 thru 2006 mintages are tiny compaired to the President figures. If the mint follows thru on the 1/3 mintage law the 2007 totals should be well over 400 million.
sac dollar the mint answered with releasing 400,000,000 pc of sac dollars dated year 2000 & 2001 first. that's a correct moved. business wise in deed. maybe by next year. they will starting to produce more sac dollars in order to meet the future demand. and to have that 1/3 production against the prez dollars. uncle sam save any money is also our savings.
Whaaaat! Sounds like a quote from those TV shills, there is not 150 million collectors! I agree with elaine1970 more like two million to possibly 10 million, just take a look at the Proof and Mint sets sold (1.5M) and then the SAE's (10M) That number is so overinflated, and to prove it go to any bank and you can get all the Presidents you want, they don't want them because the public refuses to take or use them. There is not even 150 million kids with cardboard holders collecting.......
Sorry I thought it was elaine1970's quote........I meant Conder101's quote: [QUOTEMore like 300 million Washingtons, 15 million speculators, 2 million collectors. ]
The law calls for 1/3 of the 2007 production to be Sackie dollars. I don't think the release of coins minted in prior years qualifies.
damages after recent releases the recently released circulated 2000 & 2001 sac dollars were started to get dents, scratches, edge damaged and so forth. because mostly used through coin machines. if you would like to collect circulated sac dollars. collect it now. or else most sac dollar will be damaged.
If the Presdent signs the bill that calls for the changing of the reverse of the Sac each year to honor a differnt event of person in Native American history then the number of Sacs may go down. The new legislation reduces the required mintage of Sacs from 33% to 20% of the total dollar coin mintage. But it won't go into effect until 2009. (President had to sign it by Saturday for it to got into effect next year and it is still in commitee to get both versions of the bill, House and Senate, to match.)
new jefferson dollar i found a nearby bank that they are willing to let me get new coins anytime as i wish. thank God. here what i got. 33 roll of president washington dollars. 40 roll of president john adams dollars. and 52 roll of president thomas jefferson dollars. and i will certainly get some madison dollar by end of this year.
prez dollar roll now the bank roll for president dollar is improved. we don't have to worry tail / tail, head / head. because the name of the president is written on the wrapped paper.
oh my God i just got one box of jefferson dollars ($1,000.00) from my bank. this is the first time i got a full box. if i knew it earlier that my bank will allow me to change at face. i would have not spend a lot of money buying from my dealers. like i bought some 10 box of 2004 westward journey keelboat nickels with very high premium.
