I enjoy collecting collections of Judaean coins. I’m not sure if there is a term for a collector of collections—I suppose there is. The only collections that Interest me are ancient Judaean coins. My coins are loose, encapsulated, and slabbed. My first ancient coin was the Alexander Jannaeus Lepton. I bought them both slabbed and not. I then purchased entire boxed collections of which I have many. I then set out to collect all of the coins that were in the boxed collections individually–loose and slabbed—it didn’t matter. I recently took a break from my collecting hobby to study and become a certified addiction counselor. I have my certificate and I’m back to my ancient coin collecting hobby which is more intense and addictive than ever!
I do admire your enthusiasm. Keep up the good work! P.S.- I may need your help to overcome an addiction I have. I am a late Rome mint addict! At first I started out with a little bronze coin of Gratian and now I'm about to buy a Constantius and Valens Siliqua from Rome.
I almost pulled the trigger on an Alexander Jannaeus Prutah the other day. You have some collection there.
That's a wonderful and hugely attractive collection!! @Deacon Ray ...What are your 'office hours' ?? I think I'm finally able to admit I'm an addict
The title "I'm a collector of collections" is just so true. I have many collection & have yet to complete a single one. My mind is a busy place,(meant quite sanely) It reminds my of an "off topic" pile on thread I started a month or 2 ago.about what different stuff we all collect.
Way to go on becoming an addiction counselor, Deacon Ray. That's awesome! I know jealousy is a no-no, but man, I'm super jealous! You have a fantastic collection Deacon Ray! I've added many coins to my wish list because of you. Thanks! Erin
