It was all a dream. A very bad bad dream. Maybe for the 15th anniversary.

How many of you collect the platinum coins?
    What are your thoughts?
    Why do you collect these?

If I am not being too forward, could someone explain to me the significance of collecting a platinum coin? I can see that these will never be used in circulation and must be marketed toward the investor more so than the collector. Can anyone summarize for me?

Low mintage, changing reverse design, precious metal content, mint issue price.

    Now that was a synopsis!
Perhaps I should look up these coins and study them for a while.
In your opinion, which coin is considered most desireable?

The lowest mintage so far were last year releases purchased from the mint {2006 W} All had mintages under 5000.

The lowest mintage of the proof are the 2004 coins but are about 50% higher mintage than the 2006 W UNC. Still they are special because they have a one year reverse and the mint wasn't releasing uncirculated with the same design at the time.

Here are some of the reverse:

How many 2007 uncirculated are they making?

I find this to be very interesting indeed. From what I read a few min ago...the current mintage from the US mint is unlimited on the 2007 "W" uncirculated platinum coin.

Thank you for posting the images of the platinum reverses and obverse. Beautiful indeed!

I expect it will be higher than last year and probably end up around the mintage of the 2004 or 2005 proof figures. Hopefully I am wrong and they came in much lower than that though. I ordered now to get first strike for these.

If I may be so inclined to ask, what is "first strike" in the context in which you are using it?

First strike is a designation by PCGS a slabbing company.
