This was in a group of about $70 of lose cents I got from a coworker a while ago, finally finished going through it. It doesn't quite match examples on this site.

Clash is pronounced on the obverse and not as much on the reverse, there is also a die break at both sides on the monument. DSC03060 - Copy.JPG DSC03062 - Copy.JPG DSC03067 - Copy.JPG

Yes Nice. Also known a the Prisoner Cent
The Die breaks are Die Cracks.. interesting placement. I wonder if the cracks occurred because of the Dies crashing together?

Paddy, are you referring to the small cracks on both ends of the base of the Memorial? That is the most common place for cracks to form, and I doubt that the clash had anything to do with it.

Nice indeed. There's a lot of it showing there, too.

It is, indeed a clash and a nice one. Nice find.

I've mentioned before that I found 228 "Y Clashes" in a $50 1980 Mint bag. The "Y" shows in between the columns but none of them show any signs of the columns on the obverse. Just my luck!

It's interesting how often times only one die takes the clash. At any rate, Chris, remember, those aren't 228 sets of dies, they're 228 coins struck from one set of dies. ;)

If I had 228 sets of those dies, I would have sold them a long, long time ago.
