OK on the right side of the "E" you see another "E" and on the left side of the "Y" you can see an arm of another "Y"... Can you see it
You do need freaking help.. it's too early in the morning and members are sleeping! Stop posting the same question so many times.. this is your 3rd thread! Patience.. and no I see nothing!
I'm not not seeing anything that stands out. You got a good close-up photo, try some different lighting angles.
Howdy Bobbie - Yes, I see what you are seeing that makes you ask your question. That said, no I don't think the coin was double struck or over-struck - the terms that would apply if it were. What I think you have is fairly common, a coin with nothing more than random marks, that in conjunction with the human eye, seemingly create a ghost like image similar to parts of the design on the coin that our brains interpret as something they really not. In other words it's kind of a trick that our eyes and our brains play on us. edit - One more thing Bobbie, even it were a genuine double-struck or over-struck coin, it would have no value to speak of really - less than the cost of dinner. Yeah, it would be a neat collectible but that's about all. And if you really wanted to sell one, unless it was sold to an individual who was confident in his/her own ability to know what it was, it would have to be certified and graded by one of the grading companies. And the cost of doing that alone would be several times more than the coin was worth.
Please read the article in the information forum about the different classification of doubling and such it will help... It does look odd but from my experience , alot of the doubling may not be considered true doubled die because it is caused by die chatter or other technical Ill-regularities it might be a error like machine doubling... Or die deterioration doubling From the hobby center and think tank of MTS.LLC
My dad is the cheif of the San fransico mint but now days they only do commemorative coins and he is getting ready to retire so bothering him with all my questions is the last thing I want to do.
I doubt he'd feel bothered -- just make it clear that you seriously want to know. The result might be a pleasant surprise for both of you. And welcome to the Forum!
Is he a good chef ? I mean, because most guys can't cook unless there's a grill or microwave close by.
