LOL... I saw the words toned and gold and knew that @jwitten would be jumping all over it. :)

With the coin being raw, it would be much easier to bring out the color in the toning. John likes to challenge me with nothing but slabbed gold. :) The older NGC holders seem to be the most challenging as the surface of the plastic likes to spread the light causing a larger hot spot than PCGS plastic.

Anyone able to chime in and confirm it is real? I know nothing of these.

This is one of my favorite World Gold coins. There was an est.mintage of 100,000.
8.4850 g.,0.9170 gold .2501 oz. AGW On this coin only 14,415 were released the rest met the melting pot. I saved this one as I love the Art Deco look....

    * As for your 1920 2 Peso mintage was 4,282,000 of 1.6666 g.0.9000gold .0482 oz.all struck at Mexico city mint.**Note that During 1951 -1972 a total of 4,590,493 pieces were restruck, most likely dates 1945 in 1995 matte restrikes were produced.
reference Standard Catalog of World Gold coins . At one time I collected world gold, then gold took off and I sold it all!
