Got Wood?

    Here's one I picked up at the 2016 Fall PNNA coin show this weekend. The vibrant colors you see is an iridescent patina that has developed over the surface of the Lincoln Cent. The reverse has folded lamination right above the N in CENT. When I was first looking at the coin, I thought it was a hit. When I got home I discovered what it really was. :)

    Obv is pretty standard, none of the 'wood' effect

    I also found it interesting how much more worn the right stalk appears than the left stalk

    The difference in the wear patterns of the wheat stalks is most likely a result of the strike than actual wear. It was common for the press to lose it's level during operations.
