Well, considering that Carson City did not yet exist in 1846 - much less their Mint - I think we can safely assume this one's fake.
Why is it that when the Chinese engage in business ventures like this, they are considered unethical and counterfeiters who will destroy the hobby with "fakes"; however, domestic operations are venerated and given sugar coated BS-laden descriptors like "fantasy coin?" It smacks of racism to me.
Maybe he went to school in Loveland, Colorado... There must be something in the water or air there. Maybe the English teachers have a bizarre way of parsing English language like the syntax that appears in statutory and administrative regulation text.
Haha. Not in my world. I could be wrong, but I believe the CC mint didn't even exist then. Actually, I do not believe it's even close to existence yet. I know 1878 was the first year for the CC Morgans. So I call BS.
I believe I've had all I can take of your bias; you're even dragging it into threads about real counterfeits, which proves you've nothing but a personal axe to grind and no care whatsoever about the hobby. If you wonder in the future why I don't answer you, it's because I won't see your posts.
There isn't one iota of difference between Carr's fantasy concept and what was done here. I don't care whether you like it when I call out your hypocrisy and the hypocrisy of others. I also don't care whether you ignore me or not.
How do you KNOW the intent of the producer of the "1846" piece? In any event, the intent of the producer is irrelevant in what becomes of the coin in the secondary market.
I do believe the circled R on the holder is intended to indicate 'Replica', and it has been established that the mint CC didn't exist then, one would seem to have difficulty saying it wasn't a fantasy coin. If there are logical arguments to it not being one, please present without emotions. I won't let this thread get into further argumentation without true facts.
Oh, you terrible, terrible person! How dare you think or believe differently than the almighty? You're not simply attempting to make a perfectly reasonable point, express your views as he did his, or simply shed light on someone's infinite hypocrisy; you're... gasp, BIASED! Of course, it conveniently doesn't matter that you're quite reasonably applying the same standard to two very similar products, or that the only true prejudice on display here is his. You should know by now that you, like me and anyone else who refuses to bow to a certain member's delusional self-crowned "perfection", are part of the "problem", and precious little ears need a safe space away from views other than their own. Perhaps this is a blessing in disguise though, and you won't have the pleasure of Mr. Tolerant threatening to "break your jaw".
Says the person that doesn't know the difference between "their" and "there" and "your" and "you're..."
The only thing sadder then bringing it up in every single thread is trying to play the race card in a desperate attempt to make someone feel bad
