    An interesting development

I spent a few Presidents at the local 99¢ store today, and noticed that the clerk threw them in the section of her cash drawer that already had a half dozen or more. It was the first time I've used dollar coins at that particular store, so I'm not the only one spreading them around in this neighborhood!

    my way

I spend them playing poker at work. No one seems to mind. Then after work all of my friends have dollars being put in circulation. I'm doing my job and alot of the guys at work are starting to pick up things here and there about coin collecting.

    sac dollar

another theory is that after finish distribution on its first year program of four famous presidents. i think a lot of people will starting to use all remainding president dollars as time goes by. so that's mean. it will be abundance. most people will keep the first four presidents for collections.

I just plan on doing my little part to spend as many as I find after I keep a roll for my collection.

    distribute prez dollars

the bank vault have so many 2000 circulated sac dollars waiting for us. how can the mint keep continue to produce dollar coins when very few people like it. the only way is to discontinue printing paper one dollar note.

    Howdy,

They're putting them into Stamp machines in the Post Office. Put in a $20 and buy a booklet of stamps and your change, being over $1, comes back with dollar coins.

I've been getting Sacs and Susies for years this way, but my last purchase got me a couple of Washingtons and an Adams.

And my credit union is still handing them out if you ask. Most have them in their change racks, so I just ask when I see them.

I spend them all over town.

Years back, the indian reservation casino paid their help with $2 bills to prove to the local community their economic impact.

    just musing,

    rono

Just keep in mind that as of 2007 coin operated stamp vending machines are being removed from Post Offices nationwide.

I have been dispensing them at my car washes in Ky. since they came out in 2000. I have been buying about 2500 a week for those 7 years to replenish my change machines. A rough estimate would be about a million that I have put in circulation.

It looks like the Adams first day coin covers will sell out this week so if anyone still wants to order any they might want to do it ASAP.

You forgot Madison and understated the final Sac figure by around 400-million!

Figuring a very conservative 60,000,000 each for P and D Madisons, and assuming your Adams & Jefferson numbers are the correct finals, there will have to be at least 406,185,000 Sacs.

    sac production question?.

if the mint really product another 400,000,000 sac dollar this year. then it is easy for them to produce 3 mil per president for the rest of the years to come. so it will be 12 mil prez and 4 mil sac each year for the collectors. just like the 2002 to 2006 sac mintage. it is possible?. remember if i have five one dollar coin and one five dollars note. i will carry one five dollars note.

It makes it kind of difficult to circulate a coin the government itself doesn't help circulate I read recently the postal service is going to remove stamp machines in the next couple years and it's a shame because i found no error dollars in the rolls I've bought from the banks but 2 Adams double dies in the last week from stamp machines

The mint should also work with vending machine owners. These mechanical machines that takes quarters are starting to require 4+ quarters. They should start encouraging them to accept dollar coins.

i use the pres. $1 in NYC transit system all the time. i love it, it beats shoving a handful of quarters down the machine to get my ticket. i have no problem getting rolls from my bank. one way to help with distribution is to let the federal reserve know your support by voicing your opinion to them. perhaps a letter to the fed will do the trick.
