TAMS offers a lot of variety in their articles about exonumia, Jack. A lot of it doesn't necessarily interest me, but I do learn a lot about other members specialties. You get six issues of the journal every year with privileges to buy and sell, access to the society's library, and other things.

I think it would be worthwhile for you to join for a year, and if it's not for you, drop your membership when it comes up for renewal. If you ever had an inclination to write, you could put an article together concerning your collecting interests, and submit it. You don't have to be a professional writer, just someone who has an interesting story to tell.

The gaming commission in the state of Michigan, requires all used and taken out of service casino dice To be cancelled by drilling a 1/4" hole all the way through the die. These were from one of their special promotion games.

This was given to my Great Grandfather for his service as a ship Captain. Name obscured for obvious reasons. Made of white metal from what I can tell.

You find some of the most interesting and artful pieces around. The engraving always has great quality to it.

Drive-in that opened in 1947, next thing I found was a reference in a 1953 court case where the owners owed the IRS, corporation paid the back taxes then sued the IRS.

Another French shooting medal here. I think the helmet design is loosely based on a Leonardo Da Vinci drawing. marriannemedalobv.jpg Leonardo Da Vinci drawing.jpg

Here is one that lived in the 50% off box for a while due to a large thick pile of glue on the reverse.

After with a number of finger nail flicks at the glue and paper. mostly likely it was elmers type white glue.

These had a film of Pvc all over them. They are from the Historic Mint.
I singled the Roosevelt out because it had a different look. IMG_2746.JPG IMG_2747.JPG The reverses are all the same except for the Anniversary. IMG_2749.JPG They weigh 26.3 g and are slightly larger in diameter than a Morgan Dollar .

Update on the train. I've put the correct locomotive to pull this train.
The original photo was not a Ron Landis hobo, I had one all along.
