I owned a bar 25 years ago. Received a stack of new one dollar bills from the bank. Found 7 sequential with blank backs. Any thoughts on the value? I also have some sequential bills from the same stack that are not blank on back. I have them in a safe deposit box and therefore I can't post photos right now. Tod. (my first time on this site)
Welcome to Coin Talk @Tod Brown. A missing first print, blank back, was a popular error back in the 70's and 80's. I would recommend to have them authenticated by a TPG. Some error note collectors want to see authentication because of all the fakes. I bought a blank back note several years back for $200, and I hear they are going for more now. Are your notes uncirculated ?
I think the value also goes up dramatically when you offer them as a lot - it's very very uncommon to find seven of such in a sequence.
I have been collecting US Paper a VERY-LONG time (1963) and this is the first report of this kind to my knowledge. Have them certified!
I think one was semi-folded, by me. I found them when i was mixing my New Ones, with Old Ones so my bartenders didn't give them away because of sticking together.
