Just curious, I joined in April this year so wasn't here for Christmas last year. How many people participate on average?

Mine took the time to PM me & let me know it arrived. How sweet is that.
    Thoughtful & appreciated.

I'll be shipping my Secret Santa gift the first Saturday of December. Would have done it sooner but I'm basically on vacation in a seaside hotel in south Florida...a sort of staycation only 40 miles from home, but still, what a nice change of pace from the daily routine.

I'm kind of worried though...I really hope my Secret Santa giftee likes silver and its not one of those Bronze only fanatics, because if they don't then I'm afraid they'll be a little disappointed.

@Sallent, I'm pretty sure nobody will be disapointed with their gifts : the gesture is much higher in our minds than the gift in itself (well at least that's how I think)

I find shopping for others challenging. I would like to get them something that would compliment their collection, maybe they would buy themselves. The coin I purchased kind of goes with their area of focus...I hope.

@Sallent I think everyone likes silver.

@Jwt708 I was feeling the same way narrowed it down to 2 & hoped I made the right choice.

But overall the bottom line is exactly as @Cucumbor said.

My giftee seems to have nearly everything under the sun for what they specialize in, and a lot of coins in which they only semi-collect, so it was pretty tough to find something. But I want to think I found something that will still be at least midly interesting to them. If not, then I tried lol.

And that's the point. You tried. It's a gift which, in my mind, it's the thought that counts. I tried to find something special, but I couldn't determine my giftee's focus.

I'll be more than happy to take the coin back if my giftee doesn't like it, and I'm not just saying that because I want the coin for myself :D:p

I'll just say this, my giftee's coin is medieval silver, and it's in a typical medieval silver denomination...however, medieval people on the streets of the Kingdom which minted the coin nicknamed my giftee's coin after a certain bodypart of a particular animal. Which bodypart, I think I'd rather not say in this family friendly room :D

    Did you get a Kroner?

Nah, even more obscure. I doubt anyone but the most die hard medievalists would be able to tell what the coin is.

Anyway, I won't spoil it. I'm sure the recipient will reveal it eventually.
