Wait, wait - Peter & Doug- before you ban me...

I mean "Dirty Movie" literally, as in... digging in the dirt.

    This one is Rated G.

And it's not as off-topic as you might think. There are coins involved!

    .

This is my longest detecting video, at 23 and a half minutes. But it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. I probably won't shoot any more epic-length ones like this- in fact, I hardly get out detecting any more at all- but if I ever do resume, I'll likely shoot shorter, single-target clips. This one is ten targets, in the order I dug them, so you'll see the usual junk, of course, but there were three fun old coins found, too. Enjoy, if you're so inclined.

We got to talking about detecting on one of @wonderwoman 's recent threads, so I thought I'd share this, just for fun.

I see at the end you had a permit because I was wondering when the police were going to roll up on you just to see what you were doing. Nice video.

The police here have always been friendly and have never hassled me unless called by some irate homeowner adjacent to one of the (public) parks or sidewalk strips. I do try to be tidy. I have met some belligerent people, but usually the permit calms them down and the cops go away when I show it.

The special permit is not some formal thing established by the city, but rather something I had to go down to City Hall and ask for. I got shuffled from office to office by shrugging people until finally someone in the City Manager's office created an "official" piece of paper for me.

If you go to YouTube and watch my other videos, you will see in the last "Dirty Movie" I made (the one about the "Grass Guardian"), an encounter I had with a suspicious old gentleman who lived next to the small park I was in. But though it was a public park and I was within my rights as holder of a special permit, he had a right to be solicitous, as it connected with his yard and he was the one who mowed the grass I was cutting plugs in. I did my best to smooth his ruffled feathers, but it was touch-and-go for a few moments. My microphone didn't pick up his dialog too well, but you can overhear the whole exchange.
