1723 Hibernia Half Penny

    Another early American coin that I purchased last year. This is in pretty good condition rating a VG-8 I think. It was originally minted for Ireland but the Wood’s Hibernia Coinage was unpopular in Ireland so some were sent to the American Colonies. There are a number of varieties.

    I bought this one about 40 years ago.

    Here is an example of the farthing. This one was lightly cleaned on the reverse so it might not get a grade from the TPGs.
