Here’s a new addition to my token collection. This is a John J. Adams ad for brushes. From Taunton, Massachusetts. Around the rim on one side is “ALL KINDS OF BRUSHES” and “MADE TO ORDER”. A pig is centered with “OFFICE IN BOSTON” above and “No. 12 ELM ST. Below the pig. on the pig is “??? for Brushes”. I can’t make out the first word but it starts with a G. On the other side around the rim is “JOHN J. ADAMS No. 11 Main St. TAUNTON MASS.” The address is different from the address on the other side. Even the street is different. D Ll entered is “MANUFACTURER OF EVETY DESCRIPTION OF BRUSHES, WHOLESALE & RETAIL.”
I got outbid on this token last week, it instantly reminded me of the one you posted. Interesting "Boar" theme from a totally different token. I assume the Boar represents some idea/theme from the time?
