Mine arrived.. absolutely beautiful... but no privy... Might add it to my next NGC sub as I think she'll take a 70
Got mine today. I think the mint could simplify the box and knock a buck off the price. A lot of fluff for what is essentially the same garbage pot metal case as everything else.
Look at this beauty someone just opened. Yes that is a big target spot on the cheek. I believe he’s filling out return paperwork now. Someone else I know got theirs today and it looks perfect. I just returned mine today in hopes of getting a better one. If I don’t I don’t. I’ll buy one later already graded.
My brother and I made a deal. If either of us gets the privy mark, we send to PCGS for grading, sell it, and split the profit. Mine came today, no privy mark, but he's always been lucky, and his is coming tomorrow.
I talked to mint CS rep. I have to get a refund on mine and can't get a replacement. She claimed if they get enough back with imperfections they are melted, re-made and released. Given that the blanks usually come from a third party I dont know if I believe this but that's what I was told. I find it hard to believe but its possible. I'm probably just going to wait a while now and buy mine already graded. Be interesting to see what prices do as time goes on.
Is it similar to this? My wife got a 2016 Natl Park $1 as a bonus and I chuckled at all the packaging. A coin inside a holder inside a case inside a box inside a sleeve inside a box. I guess it makes it feel special.
Yeah, it's not exactly that but not too far off. And everything is glossy, and embossed. But when you take out the insert from the final case, it's the same junk metal case like all the other Mint offerings. I've attached a photo of what these look like after about 8 years. They'd be better off just sending the plastic capsule.
Yeah, I would not leave them in those tin boxes that will rust after a few years. Theyll turn the coin brown. A lot of those dimes turned brown. I keep mine in intercept boxes.
If those marks in front of the bridge of her nose, and the mark between States and Of is on the holder then yes, 70 is on the table. If either one is on the coin, max 69.
Finding out today the total sold stands at 40,999 plus 8,926. So roughly 1/3rd of the mintage either is sitting somewhere or hasn't been made yet. Or will not materialize. It's a possibility it could become available again but might not. I sent mine back and just reserved an already graded 70 with a nice black core. If they become available again, I'd go for another one but will likely sell out fast if people are chasing the privies. Especially with the $3500 ungraded price we've seen them selling at.
Got around to taking some photos. Nice looking medal. But I still don't think we needed a 10 page book with it.
Here is mine. Sorry, just a quick cell snap! Better example than some disappointing examples I have seen.
A privy marked one just sold this morning in OGP. 12 bids $3,950. No signed cert. Some have went for as much as $5k. The signed cert ones have many sold auctions from $7500 to $9500. The normal ones are around $230 shipped as of today. Somebody gave me one and I ordered a 70 that I don't have yet. It's not looking like the mintage will hit 50k on these. You'd have to think if they had more to sell they would have released them.
