Does anyone here have duplicates of coins in their collections? I recently finished a set of gorgeous Wartime Jefferson's, but I just can't stop buying them! I don't know if I need a 12-step program or just more Jefferson's. I noticed a few coins at a show last time, but then realized I already had the same coin in my collection at home. However, my conscience stepped up and said, "Well, there's no such thing as two coins that are the EXACT same. Go ahead and buy it." I may start doing the same thing with my Morgans if I'm not careful. Does anyone else suffer from this?
I don't have a big collection but I am a hoarder by nature. So having more than one of a coin doesn't bother me in the least. As you said, no two are exactly alike.
I am seeing quadruple. I am running 4 sets of Lincolns. Obviously one is better than the rest. When I get a new coin for number one, one goes to two, two goes into three, three goes into four and the last gets sold to buy a new one. Hopefully in the near future, I will trade number four for a 1909-S VDB (unc i hope).
I have multiple barber dimes, you never can have too many 13-S's esp when I was buying them at $10-15 a pop. You also can never have too many 1899 P morgans or too many 1909 Lincolns, regardless of S or vdb, I just love that first year, I must have 20 or so of the things of course most of them are 1909 and 1909 vdb but nonetheless.
