I have three coins on eBay from the same area of Spain. They're starting at $185, $195 and $235. Buyer sends me a message from the $235 listing saying he liked the group and would pay $200. I say if it doesn't sell at $235, he could have it for $200. He sends another message clarifying that he was offering the $200 FOR ALL 3 COINS! At this point I should have stopped but I had to send back "So for the 3 coins listed at a total of $615, with a bid of $195 on one already so it's going to sell, you're offering $200? No, that won't work." He then responds again " the price is too high, $200 is a good price for those coins." At that I was calling it a day. Then it occurred to me that he's the kind that could bid and pull something shady, made worse because he's in Spain and I'm in the US, so I blocked someone for the 1st time. Please tell me your tales of crazy buyers so I can feel better.
How would such a transaction even go down? Three ebay listings, in auction style format, and he wants you to do what? Just end them and go through paypal?
I had a potential buyer a few days ago offer me $2,000 for about 10 $2 1/2 Indians I had listed, at true auction. I had to inform him I paid more than that for them, more than likely those 10 Indians would sell for closer to $3,000 at auction, and that if I ended all the auctions early, I would still have to pay final value fees on the current bid prices. So no, I was not accepting his offer, haha.
