Hi, I am new at collecting coins. I was hoping to get an idea who is the best vendor(s) to order proof sets, silver proof sets, and prestige proof sets from? Thanks for any help.
www.usmint.org for current years and going forward for the proof sets. For prior years and the prestige sets most dealers are within 5% of each other price wise so choose one you like locally.
I collect older proof sets as well. What I did was grab a copy of one of the coin magazines and list the ones that advertised proof sets, and went online to see who sold them there. What I found was that there are a lot of dealers within a couple of dollars of each other, and others who were triple that price. Do some due diligence and you'll find quite a few dealers you can do business with.
