Is it a good investment to buy certified presidential error coins and, if so, which ones: Washington or Adams and plain edge or double lettering? Also, I have ten bank rolls of both Washington and Adams dollars, and with the mint stating that it will no longer use the edge lettering after the first year of issue, or first four presidential series, is it better to keep these rolls in their original wrapping or open them up and check for errors? Investment-wise, which would be the best way to go for all of these options? Thanks

As a general rule coins are not a good investment. Prices for errors like these can skyrocket at first and drop to nothing in a few months or a year.

Dawg... That is up to you. I live close to the area where the George Washington smoothies were first found. I thought about it for a while and finally opened my roll. Of course I did not have anything but at least now I do not have to think about it anymore. I just dumped these coins and then got another roll that remains unopened. It is just what ever cranks your tractor.

Thanks Bama, I've been staring at these rolls for months...might as well crack 'em open and see what's in there and, like you said, dump them and get more. Thanks, just needed some more weight on the devil's side of my shoulder
