I know it's a photo but the coin doesn't look right to me. Color was first, then the background, then the design. It's looks different but I can't pinpoint it. I'd avoid it like the plague.
Thanks all, was waiting for replies...and that's what I thought also... and only $595.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/1918-D-Walk...345324?hash=item3d243346ec:g:wDIAAOSwxg5XxQdO
Reported. (Finally looked at the full-size picture and realized why nobody took issue with my initial assessment. Yuck!)
Before I read all the evaluations, I took a good look at the coin and said "Yuck." Guess my Spidey sense was on the mark.
I sent the seller an eBay message and he wanted to know why we felt it was fake...so I sent him the list. New message from: XXXXX I realize that there are a lot of good fakes floating around, as I just took a loss on a 1909 S Indian Head Cent a sent in to have certified that was determined to be counterfeit. I know the coin has an odd looking rim but what is your basis for stating that this coin is counterfeit? Reply
The seller has pulled the listing...he pointed out that the MM location was off and I did not catch that before. Live and learn, one of the benefits of the diverse knowledge that you guys have.
