Being in the MPC world for awhile now i have decided to dabble in the large style notes and decided for you to choose which one i should buy next from the above list, the note that gets the most votes i will look in to purchasing, my requirements our 53EPQ or PPQ and above and by budget is right around $2,000 depending on which note, that will buy allot less or allot more depending on which one as always, i like to have the best possible notes and it must be issue free !
a 53 Bison might be out of that price range... I did a lot of looking recently and the 53s I saw were in the $2,700 + range.. I'd go for the 1869 Woodchopper, it's a beauty and I think you can get one for what you want to pay so everybody wins
Collectors collect. What a collector collects is his choice. If your want list includes those notes, then the next one you should buy is the one you can get at the best price.
Finding a 1901 $10 Legal Tender (Bison) in AU for 2K or less would be an unbelievable find. You may have to lower your expectations to XF if you want one of these.....or save up some more money. You can find some extremely attractive Bison's with great eye appeal in mid-grade, just be sure it has original paper qualities. I searched for over 2 years for mine.
Interesting... I just noticed that PMG uses "Guaranty" which is defined as "an undertaking to answer for the payment of a debt or the performance of a duty of another in case of the other's default or miscarriage / the protection of a right afforded by legal provision" where as... GUARANTEE is defined as "an assurance of the quality of to be expected from a product" ... It sounds like they chose the wrong spelling… :-/
Note looks better the 30 EPQ, i really like the front as the eye appeal is excellent ! Can see more fold lines on the back and the large margin to the left but still nice We will see what the good people of coin talk direct me on what to buy so far its a close run between the Rainbow and Battleship
Its a interesting fact, i know that PCGS and PMG both have insurance companies to Cover themselves against mis grading but you have to wonder how that is possible With there checks and balances, i know for fact that PCGS has allot of incorrect grading especially in the first generation large style holders back in the beginning when they separated from PCGS coin and became there own company.
Heres an example of what im talking about, i sold this note to another collector several months ago and he decided to get it reholdered in a current generation holder, big mistake !! came back 66PPQ a far cry from the 68PPQ that it was originally holdered in ( so my advice is avoid any PCGS first gen holder no mater what you collect !) they actually keep the note and pay you a small fraction of the value ( i sold this note for $1,600 a good price for a top pop) he was reimbursed $350 from PCGS

The margins on the face are not 68 material. That can be seen with the naked eye. If your purchaser bought the note and not the number on the plastic he would not have had this problem.
graded notes our bought sight unseen, one of the reasons for authentication, however the first style holder was part of PCGS,S effort once splitting from The PCGS family (the coin part) people working for them at the time in the grading Department obviously did not have a clue on how to grade properly and this note is a prime example, do back this up, i have another example that i sent in to PMG for Cross grading which was a Series 661 $1 in PCGS 68PPQ (Large style holder once again) came back 66EPQ
