Just curious what a 1982 George Washington Commemorative Half Dollar (90% Silver, Proof) is worth? There's a local ad and I was wondering if their asking price is a good deal.

APMEX must be out of them (and JM Bullion doesn't seem to carry them) so I couldn't look it up online.

    Thanks.

If you really look you can find these on ebay for less than ten dollars.

Even on eBay, you can find them for less than $10. Several have sold for that recently.

    Thanks guys.

The ad stated $15, so based on your comments I can definitely do better elsewhere.

But I wonder if they'd take a different offer. Hmmm...

I took a chance and offered $8 to the seller. He said that it's worth more than the ad states. I quoted the mintage number to him, and mentioned that it isn't rare and only 90% silver, and offered $10. But he said no, that he doesn't need the money so he'll wait. I didn't even mention that I could buy it online for <$10 as you guys stated. Oh, well.

Yeah, I'm sure I could. It's not that I was "in the market" for one. It wasn't on my next purchase list at all. I just thought I'd pick it up from this person for a decent price if I could. No big deal.
