just curious about this! I coin roll hunt cents and at the moment I sort into dates and roll them up. Eventually I will sort through dates for errors. Easier for me to do it this way. In regards to keeping my rolls in dates, I was wondering what has been the longest time frame anyone has seen for a new error find to come out on a modern coin. I want to keep my rolls just in case however there are a lot of very talented smart people out there searching for new errors so.........1 year? 5? 10? Let your relatives figure out what to do with them when you pass away? Lol

We're still finding new "errors" on Morgan Dollars....

It's unlikely there will be an endgame for "new" errors on Moderns. Your heirs will be finding them.

The 1825 N-5 large cent was first described by Andrews in 1882. After that description no one was ever able to find one and the location of ther coin Andrews took his description from was unknown. By 1944 it was dropped from the standard references as being a misdescription. One was rediscovered in an ebay lot around 2012. That's 130 years between it being reported and confirmed.

New finds happen all the time, even on old worn coins.
