Definitely A Broadstruck Coin-A Sight To See

    Collecting Nut Borderline Hoarder

    Minted in the 1990’s. It’s BU and Red and the date is uncertain except from whom I purchased it and when, so sometime in the 1990’s. Being zinc and no collar it’s easy to see what the mint can do to a zinc planchet. All that pressure from the dies is translated into a totally smashed cent when no collar is used to hold it in place.
    The last photo has a Quarter on top and it’s easy to see that the cent peeks out a little from under the Quarter. The zinc planchet is split in 2 places. Amazing what can happen if something goes wrong in the process.

    I still can’t get over how much these to coins look alike. If I must say so myself, @paddyman98 and my coin are great examples of a zinc Broadstruck zinc cent.
