I just joined e bay the other day after drooling over coins that I could
have had if I were a member, now I am.I wanted to test the system first
before i spent real money.I bid and won a 1790 VOC colonial penny, that I have no idea what it is. The seller described it as a "duits", aka a New York penny.
the VOC is interwined on the obverse with the date below, he claimes it stands for Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie. The reverse has a center shield topped by a crown with a lion on either side all on a horizontal bar. I have tried looking it up,no luck.
If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it ,thanks.

    Actually, Dutch East Indies.

Brad Swain, the expert who posted in the linked thread, is a member here (as "Tbirde"), but hasn't been heard from since he posted in this thread a couple of months ago, also about a VOC coin.

Brad is one of the most expert collectors I know when it comes to IDing coins.
