Looking through my American coins today

    The half looks like FV but not sure on the IKE as many people still collect them.

    Both are normal with circulation wear…both FV as they have high mintages and neither are Mint State.

    Get a Yeoman Red Book and check the mintage numbers for both…I believe they are both clad coins, too…imo…Spark

    Ike could be 40% silver. Pic of rim/edge third side of coin would help determine.

    Eisenhower Dollars are $2 each at the local coin shop.

    Both are common coins and have seen circulation wear.

    That's not silver, it's CuNi clad.

    Both are spenders.

    Also known as "Blue Ikes" - they were made in 40% silver clad and sold by the mint. 1971-1974. And again in 1976 in the bicentennial 40% set.

    Also I just noticed that is a D mintmark, so another reason it's not silver.

    Yeah if you don't have a red book, get one - they're like $15 on amazon. Or you could find one a couple of years old for barely over the cost to ship it, probably.

    A 1972-D was only produced in copper-nickel, clad. Only the S mint mark contains 40% silver.
