https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/5627/NGC-Registry/ Bottom line, starting in 2017 they won't allow any non-NGC graded coins to be added to NGC Registry sets. Any non-NGC coins already in a registry set will not be removed and won't lose any points...
@Rassi You missed it! https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ngc-registry-important-changes.286216/#post-2564749 Chris
Oops sorry! I did. Didn't think this would be in the US Coins section, as they grade coins from everywhere!
I sent a response to NGC about their changes to their Registry Sets. Here's their response: "While we understand this is a significant change, remember, no coins will be removed from any sets – this change applies only to coins added in the future. This change will also allow us to to build features and provide additional support for collectors of NGC-certified coins. NGC Registry participants have suggested a number of enhancements and new features. We plan to open an optional, test version of the modernized NGC Registry for feedback in the next few months. Based on the feedback that we receive, we will launch the new and improved NGC Registry later this year." So the changes are NOT set in stone -- yet.
I received the exact same (apparently "boiler plate") reply. "New and Improved" often means they are going to completely screw it up!! Leave well enough alone already!!
I sent an email to them requesting they cancel and refund my paid membership, and received the same reply. The lady said she had forwarded my request to their "senior team."
