I would crack open my earliest dated coins book and immediately start buying every coin in the book. I’d then go buy a coin from every city I’ve ever traveled to (preferably a medieval era coin, but as long as it’s not modern, I’d be happy). Then I’d buy an incredible example of every type of error out there.
One thing that I would really go for.... Try to get as many Roman Aurei in Mint State as possible/ then turn attention too Medieval hammered AV coinage in EF-MS/ Also include a few M $ coins like Bohemia 1629 100 Dukaten in MS. I would be broke in 5 years/ a B$ does not go far these days.
Well, if I had that much money to only spend on coins and nothing else. I'd travel in Italy to find all the super rare coins of Sicily . Attend all the Italian coin shows, go to many of the high end Italian Coin shops. Go to my Grandmother's 700+ year old house in Sicily and x-ray the walls and see if there's any coins hidden in the walls, like they used to do way back then.
answer to original question: 1B would let me win most of the high value items Numismatique Genevensis auctions Künker Winter event Berlin/ many FDC 20/ 10 Dukaten/ even a 30 Dukaten Klippe Salzburg/ 18 Dukaten Sachsen
I was wondering about that to! I got four nice coins from them. Stupid Murader Fine Arts auction keeps sending me auction updates/ and I cannot bid on his material....
They still have some coins for sale at eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_dk...g&_ssn=cj_fam&store_name=macoingallery&_oac=1 Though it appears they have only made one sale in the last 6 months...
