Well, okay-- if you insist :D. It really is something that would fit in my collection, as you can see if you browse my Greeks page ;) Count me in!

I've only found one other online so far and yours is much nicer!

Is this coin or type in any of Lorber's papers? I'm going to dig through some bookmarks and see.

BTW, I just double checked SNGCop. Its not there. Also, this is from my 'junk box'. Just goes to show that there are some real gems out there in dealers trays!

From what I have seen there are two published in dealer sales (possibly the same example). As far as I know it is unpublished and certainly merits forwarding for inclusion into any future publications.

I mean unpublished in the sense it is not in the references. Sales records I suppose are 'published' in a fashion.

If it's what I'm thinking I would've never gotten that in a million billion years, but then I tend to notice those (or at least those that I think this might be) when they're on the much larger end of the bronze spectrum.

I'm skimming a paper by Lorber & Meadows and there is mention of the Poseidon/Trident type but with reverse legend of ΠΤΟΛΕΜ rather than ΒΑΣ ΠΤΟ, although the latter reverse legend was present in another type in the hoard, with Apollo/cornucopia. The plot thickens! Very interesting.

Same with me Ken. I appreciate your kind offer for a Coin Giveaway, but please do not enter me in the giveaway. Let it go to someone else needing it. I appreciate it.

Oh. Ah. It just occurred to me that I am a day early! I guess with Veterans Day being tomorrow it just feels like a Friday. Anyway, its done. Maybe I'll switch it to Thursdays. Or whatever I feel like, really. I suppose as long as I keep giving away coins nobody loses!

I can see some dealers wondering why there are half a dozen 'losers' here all of a sudden asking for a coin like that when there probably has not been half a dozen of the coins sold in the last century. For the record, the older you get and the longer you have been retired, the less details like the day of the week matter unless you have a favorite TV show or help get the grandchild off to school. I am thouroughly messed up this week because schools were closed for the election and this does not seem like Thursday to me. Thanks for the give-away. I hope Rooman9 comes to recognize just how unusual the coin is and appreciates it for more than its melt value.
