There is something in the field in front of the Indian's eye. What is it? These are the only photos I have - no photos of the reverse but it looks normal. Thanks.

A planchet flaw with a rev. casting bubble counterfeit clash mark, over lamination chip with a retained cud behind a mechanical doubling with a struck thru on the obverse?
I thought die chip at first too, but then thought? How could the metal flow out onto the field when it Was struck?
Another guess LOL, how about struck through retained lamination, then the lamination fell off? curious to know
It should be as this is a fairly common occurrence on these coins; nevertheless, this is one of the best examples I've ever seen. One day I may use this photo in a book - as soon as @SuperDave writes the one he has been talking about doing for a year.
