from the same seller and set from the above coin. toned 1961 Canada 50 cents. yes I already have this year, but I had to get this 1 too. sellers pics... I love the toning. I can't wait to get it in my hands. the fact that it's also has my birth year 1961 on it....had nothing to do with it. lol
UNC ? really ? I see obvious wear on the coin. maybe VF-XF. wait for jjoo's and jello's experienced opinions...
I'm really new at this, I'm looking at a more worn coin, and this one was much better, specifically the headband part of 'ol George's crown. That, plus a lot of wishful thinking equals Unc. lol, like I said, this is new for me.
no problem. I did not mean to come down on you hard like that. grading is a learning process. and that is why I have called on the more experienced Canadian collectors jjoo and jello to give their experienced opinions on your coin. wishful thinking will not change a grade on a coin. lol I have tried that before without any luck.
Mid/High VF. Check out the middle VF example. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-grading.php?grade=1-cent-1911-to-1920-George-V&id=5
I think it would make XF-40, but no higher .. the wear on the crown is way too much to be more than 40.
That was the basis of my conclusion as well. The jewels going up from the cross are worn into each other in the picture, vs. the XF examples in the CoinsandCanada guide where they are all distinct.
