Ooh, even better! I consider anything that happened at the mint as something more I can learn from.

What I don't understand is why the seller used the word Details in his listing. The luster is subdued, but not gone. If these lines are not a problem then I don't see one. I think he scared off the other bidders, letting me get it at opening bid.

Some of the cannier sellers are including that word more frequently to forestall SNAD claims for cleaned coins, be they intentionally offered or not.

I really like the wood grain tones for copper.
    Here's a nice old cent.

Wow they are all nice but the last one is a real Gem. With the exception of the brown spot above the O on the reverse it's near perfect.
    Great coins

Here's the crown jewel of the Lincoln cents in my collection. 67RD although it's gotten a little more brown over the years. It's in a slab. They don't eliminate the toning effects. Slow them down for sure.

Thanks. That isn't actually a spot on that coin... just an area of the coin that is a bit more reflective and it just showed as a bit darker in that photo. The best MS67RD I've ever seen and I looked though dozens before buying that one... passed on a few MS67+RD examples that I've been offered that aren't as nice. Maybe someday I'll get it regraded. :)

You can see it here on my website w/ the same photo by PCGS, but also with pics of it in the slab that I did. :)

I'm not much of a modern guy, but I do have a type set of US coins and this seemed like a nice zinc/memorial example:
