Found in a $10 bag of coins at antique store. labeled "foreign coins, don't open."

 

I got two 1892 Morgans
A nice O, and a top 5 CC date.
I'm not a big fan of buying real circulated coins. I guess sometimes u have to make exceptions.

I have a hard time believing this one is a AU 58. I guess they see something I don't??

 

I wanted the 1859 IHC for a long time and finally found one for my type set:





It's a single year issue and a bit harder to find than the more common types 2&3 with the shield on the reverse.

 

what kind of error is that? The outer edges of the letters and inner edges of the rim seem a little off.

 

Looks to be a snow S-1 FS1-006.2 Breen 1945 repunched on all 4 digits it's listed as an R-6 my references say only 15 known! A closer image of the date may confirm but several pups on this specimen makes me believe that it is a S-1. One of the major pups is the open top R in America on the obv. And a die crack from the rim at 3 K to wreath on the rev. And judging from this information I say yeppers It's a S-1

 

BTW great find even with the die deterioration and mad, it's a keeper for sure!

 

This variety is the most important variety in the series. Finding one as you have will truly be a corner stone in your collection .

 

Not a fan of Morgans but I like the look of the 92CC.
