I am not putting any of my .999 coins and bars for sale here.
I don't feel secure sending maby $3,000 worth of coins in the mail or by UPS or FedEx.

I don't have alot but around 100+ ounces of Bullion.

Is a coin shop the best place to possibly sell them?
In the City I live now there has to be at least 25 or more pawn shops and it seems the old school coin shops have vanished or moved.

Finding a Coin shop might mean going to another City closer by..

If Silver is $30 a ounce for example, what is the best offer I should get on average?

If this type of post is frowned on I will delete it..

I have heard the buzz that pawn shops are swimming in silver and are not paying very strong for it. Maybe $25 or less?

    Plan on shopping around IMO.

I sold a bunch of silver bullion on "Uncle Herny's" in Maine. I am careful with craigslist, but advertising locally would be what I would do. Selling straight to someone who wants it will be better if you can cut out the middleman. $3,000 worth of silver is a lot, but not a crazy amount.

Uncle Herny's Wow I loved that, would buy it every time a new one would come out. Plus there was a radio program on Sunday, a country station as I remember, with people selling stuff.
That was awhile ago when I lived in New Hampshire.

If you sell to an LCS, pawn shop, etc. you can expect them to report your information to the IRS for anything over $600.00. I know what you said about selling here and the mail but shipping USPS Registered Mail is very safe. You should check it out.

From what I think I see is that the first $600 insurance at USPS is $11 and then each additional $100 of insurance is $1.70.
I believe its for priority box? Their page confuses me a bit.

I don't want to sound like a paranoid nut but if a package is labeled as decently insured it might just bring the bad element out in a worker.
Yes it can be insured but the long process of filing claims will take a toll.

A coin show might do you well. Multiple dealers will be there and they will give you a good price. If you get there early they’ll be looking for inventory to sell that day. You don’t need to sell it all to the first offer, just walk around. Split the sales and they all pay cash
Maybe New Bedford on September 29

I imagine there are plenty of folks looking to buy $3000 in silver at an attractive price (little to no premium) right now. Be prepared to furnish evidence that what you are offering is real, and that it belongs to you, and be especially careful about your physical and financial security.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Try listing things here on the marketplace first. You know you have motivated buyers, and if the price is right they'll snap it up.

I will say, having bought a roll of silver quarters from Peter, I'm fully pleased with my transaction and recommend dealing with him.

The insurance you quoted is basic. You need to ship any large quantity or expensive via Registered Mail. It’s first class under 13 ounces and priority if over. You get tracking but you can’t see updates. That’s for protection. It’s the safest way to send something through the mail. It’s slower but very safe and the insurance is less after paying registered fee. Every time the package changes hands it’s signed for. No one knows what you’re shipping except you and the person receiving it.

Selling to the end user is always beneficial to both parties.

Guys, these kind of threads are permitted but only when they are discussed in general terms. Any mention of specific items, whether that be posted by responders or the original poster is a line that cannot be crossed. So members have to take care that does not occur.

Unfortunately that did occur so I have removed and or edited the posts that did cross that line.

Please do not let it happen again.

I've always heard that dealers are most interested in selling on the first day and buying on the second day.
