Is it time to move on to 1730?

    Mexico, 8 reales, Philip V, 1730 F. "Acapulco Hoard".
    KM 47a
    27.06 grams

Back in the early 2010s a large hoard of mostly Philip V cobs were discovered inside a wall of a building in Acapulco that was being demolished. Most show little or no wear, along with the usual range of strike quality. It is no surprise that such a hoard would be found in Acapulco. That port was the main one for the departure and arrival of Spanish ships trading in the Philippines.

I'm pretty certain the the final numeral, which is rather weak, of the date is a"0". Also the assayer, F, seems to have been re-engraved over another initial, perhaps a G or another F.

The squarish flan is very typical for this period of late cob production at the Mexico City mint.

A couple to offer - a GB fourpence and a Spanish 1 Real (holed sadly). The latter moved on several years ago!

A pair of 1729 proof halfpennies, one copper and one silver on a thick flan. Interestingly struck from two different obverse dies.

Here's a gold coin from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Purchased from World-Wide Coins of California in November 1992.

Brazil, John V, 20000 reis, Minas Gerais, 1727.
    FR 33
    53.50 grams

This is the final and somewhat scarcer date for this denomination.
