    Hello everyone,

I've followed the forums here for a while but never created an account to post.

I've been a long time collector but just began coin roll hunting. Today I discovered a 1961 Lincoln that looks to be a proof coin. The weird thing is it looks like the mint mark was ground off?

Pictures taken with not so great lighting, sorry!

Sorry but it not a proof. Proof coins have a nice "squared" edge and reflective fields. . It might have been from Denver and someone messed with the mint mark.

The proof for this year would not have a mint mark. What you have is just a damaged coin.

Haha, figures! Oh well, it's a clean coin minus the mint mark considering its 55 years old.
