If you're truly interested in getting some education about coins and coin collecting, join the American Numismatic Association and read their magazine, The Numismatist, from cover to cover. Also, subscribe to a magazine such as Numismatic News or Coin World and read each issue from cover to cover. Then, buy a Red Book (Guide Book of United States Coins) and read all the introductory information. Also, keep looking at CoinTalk and asking questions.

I agree with 99% of this but would note that there are some dealers and collectors on YouTube who upload interesting and useful videos. For experienced numismatists it is fairly easy to separate the legitimate videos from the hucksters and shysters. Also, respected organizations like the ANA also leverage YouTube to put out educational videos that have value.
