I'll take that as a coinpliment ... I like you guys, so I wanted to pal-around with my coin friends Again => the dude that gets picked as my present-guy, is gonna get coal!!
Ok, Round 1 has been assigned, 19 members. I'll do round 2 starting with @Theodosius as soon as I get another bunch of joiners.
I happen to have a piece of Titanic coal I bought at the Titanic museum in Orlando. One of my favorites of my few artifacts and fossils. I'll try to find time later to post a photo of it.
coal doesn't cost that much ... ... well, maybe it cost a few more lives than we'd like to think ... => mining in the ol' days most have been fricken nasty, eh? Apparently, some things do get better with age!!
I'm in. I bought a couple coins in Baltimore yesterday in anticipation of this. I still haven't decided which is the gift or possibly I'll keep both and give something else.
Since FAC are not returning my emails to become a seller on their free auctions even after they looked at my credentials I will give what I was going to sell there to a member here.
I hope that I'm not too late to join in. JA- Please let me know if you need by coin mailing address (it has never changed). The OP implied that the gift needed to be an ancient coin. Obviously, everyone here is an ancient coin enthusiast but I hope that each secret Santa gets poetic license to gift what ever is appropriate for their recipient. For example you might gift an ancient coin book or an all expense paid trip to the NYINC right?
